Dr. Ibrahim Cem (Gem) BAYKAL is a faculty member at the Computer Engineering Department of Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University. He graduated from Hacettepe University of Electronics Engineering. After working as an R&D software engineer at Havelsan, he completed his PhD in Machine Vision and Quality Control at the University of Calgary in Canada. After graduating, he worked as a manager at Intelliview in Calgary for two years, and then worked as an R&D software engineer at Cummins Allison, one of the world's largest money counting machine manufacturers, in Chicago for 7 years. He developed the algorithm and software that determines whether the money counted by desktop money counting machines used by banks in the US and Canada is 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 and the year it belongs to.
